Each earring is a random pattern of hand forged links riveted together with a moveable rivet. The earrings maintain structure yet the individual links shift and move slightly. They are full rounded 3-dimensional shapes while they are worn and can also be displayed as sculptural objects.
-
These earrings represent energy radiating outward. Dozens of individually forged and fabricated loops are fed onto 18k gold ear wires. They are not soldered in place but instead allow for movement of the loops when they are being worn.
-
Overlapping forged wires form a metal drawing. The linear elements are joined with movable rivets which allow for some shifting movement. Oxidized Sterling silver 14k gold filled and cotton cord with with a handmade clasp.

A writing desk in Narra with bloodwood drawer fronts and hand-engraved hardware. The sweep of the leg is the heart of the design carrying its curve through the sides back and drawer fronts. This detail shows the escutcheon plate engraved with a marine scene of a periwinkle and rockweed.

A cabinet in Claro walnut standing on cast bronze legs. This is my third piece from a heavily figured Claro walnut plank all using shop-made Mokume-gane hardware to complement and echo the figure in the wood. Cast bronze legs lend visually slim yet solid support to the cabinet.

This cabinet features figured English brown oak and a stand of torrified ash. The engraved nickel silver escutcheon plate opens to reveal a detailed interior of holly and ash. In dramatic contrast to the rich tones of the exterior these naturally light woods illuminate the cabinet from within.

What I first imagined as a “wanderer’s jacket” soon morphed into the Butterfly jacket. The tucked stitches bring dimension to the piece and build up the body sleeves and side panels with detailed stitches. The piece uses naturally-dyed and hand-woven indigo fabric with plant-dyed thread.
-
The tunic attains its shimmering golden glow from turmeric-dyed cotton which lays under the Four Seasons piece that highlights each season with a different thread color derived from nature's diverse flora.
-
Each time I create this piece I take my feelings of the moment to generate originality. Each pattern meets another in an asymmetrical way creating an exciting puzzle for the eye. The fabric was dipped 60 times in natural indigo plant dye with thread dyed from chestnut onion and other plants.
-
The Swing Coat was born out of the desire to create an innovative 3-dimensional shape that gives dynamic movement to textile art. This coat is hand-stitched on delicately woven cotton fabric. The fabric and thread are both hand-dyed with natural plants such as indigo.
-
Masu is the Japanese word signifying prosperity or brilliance. This jacket contains an abundance of straight running stitches but in a design that evokes strength and elegance. The fabric was naturally dyed from indigo plant accompanied by plant-dyed thread using madder and other native plants.

The Spread ring symbolizes societal phenomena's gradual spread into our lives through media. The ring's design is a double entendre inspired by a butterfly's wings and the butterfly effect. The sterling silver pieces were sawed hammered soldered and Keum-Boo applied to add dimension to the ring.

This pochette (pocket violin) has a rabbit head carved for the scroll on top. It is the same length as a violin but not as wide. Traditionally pochettes were made to be carried in the coats of dance leaders and private instructors. Materials include ambrosia maple red heart ebony and maple.
-
The body of this banjo is made from a copper tea kettle. It has elaborate carving on the scroll and neck. The frets are made of inlayed copper. Materials include ambrosia maple mahogany cocobolo ebony and copper.

This violin's materials are very unconventional. The back is made from the burl of a tree using a process that helps maintain it's unique appearance without sacrificing quality of sound. Materials include buckeye burl spruce ebony and maple.

I understand my market booth setup is different than what is required for the Smithsonian Craft Show. If selected I will provide a booth similar to what you typically show. By leaving plenty of floor space serious patrons are afforded the opportunity to play the instruments that interest them.
