100's of short pieces of rattan are woven into the walls of the basket to create the artist's own "hairy" technique. (I’ve dyed all colors you see.) Encaustic medium was applied then melted into the reed to strengthen and protect the finished basket.

Materials: Flameworked and sandblasted borosilicate glass Each feather begins with a central spine of clear glass shaped in the flame. Using an additive process 1 mm threads are fused one by one to form the feather’s delicate structure. Once complete pieces are annealed for nine hours then sandblasted with silicon carbide at 40 psi to create a soft frosted patina. Finished works are displayed in protective glass cases to preserve their form. Conceptually feathers embody duality—offering protection through insulation and enabling flight which I interpret as hope. Presented together the concave form suggests shelter while the convex evokes lift. Together they represent the tension between grounding and transcendence.
-
Materials: Flameworked clear borosilicate glass driftwood. Using both bench-mounted and hand-held torches I heat borosilicate glass to nearly 4 000°F and shape it with stainless steel tools. Ladders root structures and branches are individually formed then welded together in an additive process that weaves through a driftwood base to form a unified tabletop sculpture. Conceptually I explore trees as conduits between the terrestrial and celestial—bridges that sustain life through the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Ladders serve as metaphors for duality and movement symbolizing the interconnected flow between earth and sky.
-
Working with flameworked clear borosilicate glass at 4 000°F I craft each feather individually. A central spine is drawn out then fine glass threads are added one by one to build its form. Once complete the feathers are welded and woven into a nest-like shape annealed overnight then sandblasted for a soft matte finish. The final piece is mounted onto a driftwood cradle grounding the work in natural materiality. Conceptually the nest symbolizes home—a space of safety and belonging. Feathers both delicate and resilient represent protection and hope. Together they embody sanctuary: a balance of fragility and strength.
-
Materials: Flameworked clear cobalt and blue caramel borosilicate glass Inspired by the 16th-century Venetian filigrana technique threads of colored glass are heated to 4 000°F and fused into clear borosilicate to create intricate patterns. This hanging sculpture features a blown hollow center with 1 mm-wide thread-like appendages highlighting both precision and delicacy. Borosilicate known for its strength and thermal resistance allows for fine detail while maintaining durability. Like my LGBTQ community the sculpture appears fragile yet contains a quiet strength beneath its delicate surface—resilient enduring and unapologetically present.
-
Materials: Flameworked and sandblasted borosilicate glass driftwood In this series borosilicate rods are heated and stretched in the flame to create sinewy thread-like forms. Using a hand-held torch at 4 000°F they are woven into basket-like structures. Molten glass is carefully wrapped around a driftwood handle requiring precision to avoid burning the wood. The result is a balance between fragility and control permanence and impermanence. The Memory Basket Series reflects my evolving relationship with memory. Once tightly woven and dependable it has softened and loosened over time. This shift is mirrored in the weathered translucent glass—a metaphor for the fragile shifting nature of recollection.

This wood turned vessel of unknown origin became an interesting and challenging surface design. Due to the undulations of the entire surface surface designs became more flowing along the vertical axis.
-
This cherry vessel has an exterior form and a different more pregnant form inside that was hollowed out. Thedesign utilizes only archival ink to contrast the deep cherry color. Titled Nauticl the form is held together by life preservers
-
This natural edge Holly form was created through an intuitive largely unconscious process where one shape stimulates another shape and one color stimulates another color. No pencil lines to prepare or plan for the design. It has 7 unique elements as you circle around the entire form. Efforts were made to honor the natural defects in the wood.
-
This hourglass form made from maple had such powerful grain lines that I had to make this central to my design. Hidden beneath the grain lines emerged numerous egg forms that remain discreetly embedded throughout the form
-
This barrel shaped vessel came from sassafras wood. The middle surface design was created directly onto the surface without any preparatory pencil marks lending the process a free range for my imagination. The upper and lower portions were designed using pencil lines beforehand to support relative uniformity of the repeats. This design focuses on the intersection between outer life and inner life

Masu is the Japanese word signifying prosperity or brilliance. This jacket contains an abundance of straight running stitches but in a design that evokes strength and elegance. The fabric was naturally dyed from indigo plant accompanied by plant-dyed thread using madder and other native plants.
-
Each time I create this piece I take my feelings of the moment to generate originality. Each pattern meets another in an asymmetrical way creating an exciting puzzle for the eye. The fabric was dipped 60 times in natural indigo plant dye with thread dyed from chestnut onion and other plants.
-
The jacket is hand-stitched on cotton fabric dyed with madder and indigo. The poem stitched on the piece signifies that each end exists solely because of a beginning. The fish bring the philosophical message to life by symbolizing the vivacious cycle of life on Earth.
-
This piece is the result of an experiment to transform indigo-dyed cotton fabric into a creative image that mirrors the shapes and three-dimensional structure of origami. The various shades of indigo are decorated with stitches sourced from plant-based dyed thread.
-
The Swing Coat was born out of the desire to create an innovative 3-dimensional shape that gives dynamic movement to textile art. This coat is hand-stitched on delicately woven cotton fabric. The fabric and thread are both hand-dyed with natural plants such as indigo.

A striking convergence of nature and futurism Eclipse Plume is an avant-garde millinery creation that reimagines the radiance of celestial bodies through metallic feathers. Each quill painted in silver emanates outward like the corona of a solar eclipse—symbolizing transformation power and renewal. The circular core encrusted with shimmering embellishments serves as a focal point drawing the eye into an otherworldly dance of light and shadow. As both an artistic statement and a wearable sculpture Eclipse Plume blurs the line between fashion and fine art embodying the limitless expanse of the cosmos while honoring the grace of the natural world.

This piece is an integral part of the engorged Eden series. It’s raw it follows the same narrative of clawing hands and accusatory fingers that I see as symbols of this ongoing political trauma during climate crisis. There’s a sense of desperation of unchecked rage building from the bottom of the piece and becoming more lavish explicit and desperate as it moves up. When you open the doors however you find a glowing and reflective interior a soft golden place—a stark contrast to the brutal exterior. This is the jewel for jewels a reminder of the delicate beautiful things we are fighting for even as the outside world claws at us. It is in a sense the hope we cling to in the face of all the destruction.

This piece another part of the engorged Eden series made in the wake of hurricane Helene uses images of phaluses fingers and references to erosion to tell a story of capitalist overreach and life in climate crisis. I use an adapted form of repousse to form the stainless steel and then polish it. This piece is an examination of my living situation within the larger picture. It is unnervingly close to square and level and plumb but only the shelves sit level when the piece is installed correctly. I had a landslide that bumped my house and shifted the whole place from its foundation. The counter wasn’t level anymore I stubbed my foot on the floor but in the chaos of the time it took me a long time to reckon the problem.
-
The sconce is another deep dive into light and stone and one of the first pieces in the engorged Eden series. It was in production at the time of the storm. I was struck by the erosion patterns I saw on a work trip on to Tasmania in 2016 and they’ve stayed with me becoming a motif for both natural and social decay. Erosion is a pretty solid metaphor for decay for the slow inevitable degradation of something once solid. It contrasts with “pollination †which is a force of growth and positive change another word I meditate on in my practice. In this piece erosion is not just a natural phenomenon—it’s the breakdown of trust the decaying of values the loss of something sacred. The tongue once again is central here signaling how the decay of trust is often spoken into being. It’s a story of how the interior of our hearts can be hollowed out by outside forces and how we must remain vigilant against these forces.

Wall art carved of tropical cedar: the circle of cutouts represent the passage of life and the carving tradition from one generation to another
-
This chair is constructed and carved from a single piece of wood and is typical of the style found in the Amazon jungle villages where I lived growing up.
-
These carved cedar wall art design patterns are inspired b the complex world of nature I was surrounded by growing up in the Amazon jungle in Suriname.
-
This carving design represents the currents of the rivers that are the center of life in the Amazon- they are the natural highway; food source- fishing water for bathing and crop raising and laundry; ever present as they flow beside and between our villages... now so threatened by climate change... seen with a table base made of cedar
-
This carving includes an Adinkra symbol which originate from the Gyaman people from Cote D'Ivoire and Ghana. These symbols are not found in the traditional Saamaca Suriname Maroon carving although some of our enslaved ancestors were brought from Ghana. This carving was a special request and honors the cross cultural nature of African patterns and symbols.

This piece is a cut paper sculpture made from scraps from my hand-cut wall pictures (images 1--3). I'm using those scraps along with other up-cycled and found mulberry tissue and rice papers. I'm painting these paper scraps with Holbein acryla gouache a matte paint to create a paper "palette" to use when creating these. I'm also up-cycling bits of what would be trash: small pieces of wire toothpicks and wood scraps and repurposing packaging material and styrofoam to use as an armature for the cut paper. I'm using a variety of X-acto blades scissors and scalpels to cut the paper. These pieces are comments on a past or lost or future natural world. They are displayed under glass cloches.
