   Saturday, April 24:     10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Reception and tours for young professionals. Tickets ($20 each), include admission to Craft Show, refreshments, discussions with the artists and special tours.

Celebrating JAM

In honor of Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM), young performers from The Music Teaching Project, a community-based jazz education program, present a “living exhibition“ of the craft of jazz, playing two concerts with a range of music from Latin Jazz to straight ahead jazz. Presented in collaboration with the National Museum of American History.

Daily Features:
Emerging Artists from the Corcoran College of Art + Design
Innovative juried exhibition of craft objects by advanced students from the Corcoran College of Art + Design. Artists will be on hand to discuss their work. In the Auditorium.

Understanding Jewelry and Light Metal Work
In a series of demonstrations and talks, Craft Show exhibitors and craft artists from the Corcoran College of Art + Design demonstrate the process and the art behind making jewelry and working with light metal. In the Auditorium. Schedule to be announced.

Craft Emergency Relief Fund + Artists’ Emergency Resources
This year the Smithsonian Women’s Committee and the Smithsonian Craft Show recognize CERF+ for 25 years of dedicated support to the American craft community. Look for the video about CERF+ in the Café and ask the artists wearing CERF+ buttons about CERF+.
