I have found my voice sculpting wood. I make wood vessels (some taller than a person); carved and painted wood panels to hang on the wall; and sculpture. I have developed a vocabulary of surfaces and finishes that uses the tool marks of carving and turning, the grain and color of natural wood, and the added colors of paint and dyes. The forms I love speak of simple, natural shapes. On a good day when it all comes together it becomes a wooden poem.
